As my husband astutely pointed out to me the other day, I have a lot of New Year’s Resolutions. I see it less as a laundry list (although I have been waiting to have a few free minutes so that I can MAKE one of those to keep track of them all), and more of an overall refresh of various aspects of my life. I try not to let all that go until New Year’s, rather, I am always attempting to evaluate and “makeover” certain things about my life.
First and foremost, I will re-dedicate myself (as I do several times a week) to updating my blog. I haven’t quite figured out why it’s important to me yet, but for some reason, it is! So there you go.
Secondly, I need to re-gain my mindfulness about what I put in my mouth. Indulging on occasion is fine, and I want to continue to live life without an unreasonable amount of restrictions – but I’ve definitely taken on a new resolve to increase my awareness about my intake.
I have already informed the husband that 2011 is the “Year of Organization” in the Morey household. We have both vowed to make more of an effort to keep things picked up, readily accessible, etc. We’ve taken some steps to get our place in this state so that we may maintain it, but I still feel like there’s a lot to be done in that arena.
We have also decided to be more adventurous in our cooking – the other night, we tried our hand at eggplant and artichoke lasagna. We made everything (except the noodles) from scratch, and it turned out great (for the most part). Sadly, I did not snap any pictures, but don’t worry, because taking more of those and getting better at the ones I take, is ANOTHER resolution of mine. I’m hoping to take a digital photography class this year, time willing.
In addition to a whole other host of resolutions, I want to spend less time being stressed and more time with some folks that make me super happy – and that’s a resolution I can stick to! (See below for a few examples)
