Random Restaurant Review

I know this isn’t in any kind of chronological order, but I didn’t have time to blog about it after we went (AND I forgot my camera, sorry 😦 ) but it definitely deserves a post and some recognition.

Since the wedding, Husband and I have taken ,turns planning date night for each other once a month. January was my month, and since we’ve both been traveling and stressed (not to mention how darn cold it is outside!), I decided to go with something low-key – dinner and a movie! What a novel concept. I knew he’d been dying to go see Tron 3D at the IMAX (don’t ask me why!) so after choosing our film location, dinner choices were narrowed down. We had both heard good things about Seasons 52, so we made reservations.

The first thing we noticed when we walked in was the relaxing and cozy decor. Fireplaces everywhere, an immense and inviting bar (with a piano player behind it!), dark wood, wine racks on all the walls. We were a little early for our reservation, so we opted to try the drink menu first. Husband had a Napa Cab (shocker!) and I adventurously opted for the Organic Sunshine Martini (Orange Infused Vodka and Agave Nectar). Both were spectacular!

At dinner, we began with the Eggplant Parmesan flatbread. Their whole menu changes seasonally, but this was ordered off the sidebar menu, which is rotated weekly. It was delicious, not too thin, with just the perfect amount of cheese and seasoning.

Main courses were Grilled Grouper over Shrimp Risotto for me and Lamb Chops for husband, both of which came with impeccably roasted vegetables. As side dishes, we also chose roasted potatoes with horseradish mayo and Roasted Golden Beets with Wasabi dipping sauce. NOTHING disappointed! All the food was prepared and presented amazingly. The best part is, all of their entrees supposedly have fewer than 475 calories! I can’t believe it’s taken this long for a low-calorie restaurant concept to come to fruition (I thought I was going to have to start my own!) but I am glad it did. No doubt about it, the bill was a little steep…two glasses of Kim Crawford Pinot Noir later – but as a date night indulgence, it hit the spot without a doubt.

Too bad I forgot to take pictures – guess we will just have to go back so that I can!
