**This post was listed out of context – I’m still learning the “save and publish later” mechanism – Apologies!
This morning, Husband and I were scheduled to try our first yoga class together at a real live yoga studio. All of my experience with the art of yoga up to this point has been with the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders. So I was very psyched to get real instruction in a class setting. Husband was convinced that all yoga consisted of was easy “stretching,” so I was ALSO very excited to see if it lived up to his expectations. Unfortunately, none of these things came to fruition. We could NOT find the Yoga studio ANYWHERE! Our GPS led us astray, iPhones were rendered useless, and we are both convinced that the building does not actually exist. We were running late as it was, so we threw in the towel and vowed to try Yoga again another day, when the facility is feeling more visible.
Luckily, we had plenty else to keep us occupied today. We picked up our misbehaving Jeep Liberty from the mechanic, made GOOD use of our Sports Authority coupon to stock up for an upcoming ski trip … and then we came home to make WAFFLES! A Saturday favorite, we have been experimenting with different kinds of waffles and pancakes to make the ultimate use of our wedding gifts:
Here’s how the Waffles were made:
1. Grind a cup of oatmeal in the food processor.
2. Add a cup of whole wheat flour.
3. Add a 1/3 cup of regular flour.
4. Add a tablespoon of sugar.
5. Add a teaspoon of cinnamon.
Mix this up!
In a separate bowl …
1. Beat 3 eggs.
2. Add 1/2 cup of milk.
4. Add a tablespoon of melted butter
Mix it up!
Pour the liquid ingredients into the dry ingredients, and mix it all together. Add milk as needed until the consistency is to your liking.
Pour in waffle iron and serve with your choice of toppings! Today we chose peaches and coconut, with a drizzle of Lite Maple Syrup. See below for finished product:
It provided delicious fuel for our Saturday!
