As I’ve previously mentioned, I have a lot of kitchen resolutions, but I’ve recently been re-inspired to revisit a baking project that has been on my mind for a while: Homemade Granola!
I first encountered the idea through my sister (in-law) – she tried to send us some in the mail, which incidentally didn’t work out and I never got to taste it. But it was too late – the idea was burned in my brain. It was reinforced not too long after when Husband and I took our honeymoon Napa trip. We stayed at a wonderful Bed and Breakfast, The Inn on First. The innkeepers were wonderful cooks and bakers that served us all sorts of delicious goodies, but the breakfasts (of course) were the highlight. We would start every morning with yogurt and homemade granola, and I was sold. It has a taste so different from any store-bought granola I’ve ever tried, so I made up my mind that it was definitely worth the effort to try my hand at making my own. Unfortunately, I have not tried as of yet. Luckily, today, I was again confronted with my kitchen project demon. I read about THIS granola inspired by the Cupcakes and Cashmere blog. In finally looking at the recipe and everything the process entails, I am ready to make an attempt. Stay tuned for the results.
