Usually waking up on Saturday mornings yields breakfasts full of pancakes, waffles or French Toast … but last Saturday morning, there was no time! We were headed to Yoga, and this time … we weren’t going to miss it! So, in the interest of time and beginning the day healthfully, I downed this guy:
This smoothie included oatmeal, berries, Chobani Greek Yogurt, Muscle Milk protein powder and a little bit of Almond Milk. It was delicious and definitely got me fueled for Yoga.
Husband and I tried our first class together at Willow Yoga. We both agreed that it wasn’t as an intense a workout as it could have been, BUT it could be a really wonderful part of an overall workout program. We hardly ever take the time to stretch when we go to the gym, so this was a nice reminder that we really NEED to. We also agreed that we would be willing to try other studios in order to see if there was a more challenging option available to us! We were glad we tried it, especially because it was right next door to a hot dog stand we had been DYING to try! We don’t eat a lot of hot dogs, but it seemed like the perfect occasion. We stopped by Jimmy’s Place for an early lunch. Husband selected the Maxwell Polish Sausage (his fave!) and I went all out with a Chicago-style dog.
It was DELICIOUS!
After dogs and sausage, we headed to Trader Joe’s … Dan had NEVER BEEN! It was a very exciting experience for him, and now he is hooked. We partook in the wine tasting, and left with several new bottles to try. We also picked up some hummus and veggies for a late afternoon snack, knowing that we were going out to dinner with our parents later:
It was delicious and hit the spot. So much, in fact, that we were inspired to pull a workout double feature, and we headed to the gym to sneak in some cardio to supplement our yoga session before dinner. 25 minutes on the Arc Trainer were just the thing to complete the day!
