The past few weekends have been filled with wonderful and fun engagements: weddings, trips to DC, etc. Aside from Friday night, when we attended the Queens of the Stone Age concert (AMAZING!), this weekend was the first chance we had to take care of some outstanding errands and chores we have been procrastinating on.
We started out with a trip to the gym early on Saturday morning. I ran/walked for a little over 4.5 miles and finished up a hot, sweaty mess! I knew I didn’t want to leave the treadmill area because at that time of day on Saturday, our gym is crazy busy. This was amplified by the fact that there were two yoga classes and a basketball tournament going on. I think I was lucky to find my one lonely treadmill!
After we showered and spent a little time doing some online research … we went CAR SHOPPING! It will be the first vehicle that Dan and I buy together, so we have spent days researching various makes, models, used, new … there’s so much information! After test driving several different kinds, I think we have settled on a Mazda CX-7! Now we are in the process of getting the best deal possible. Updates soon to come.
Other stops in our whirlwind of errands? Dick’s Sporting Goods. I needed to get some Under Armour running tights for outdoor running in this disappointingly chilly weather, but of course got sidetracked with all the goodies available. I didn’t end up with any of the items on my wishlist, but I found plenty of things to keep me occupied. I loaded up my arms with workout clothes, but Dan helped me dial it back, much to my dismay:
We also stopped at one of my favorite stores, Hobby Lobby for something we needed, but instead of finding our essential item, I found Easter goodies for Penny’s Easter basket! She will love them 🙂
After running around all day, we ended up in the neighborhood of Moretti’s, a really great pizza joint that has HUGE television screens just perfect for watching Butler kick some BUTT! We also enjoyed a couple of 312 drafts (like Dan said, better soak it up before their acquisition catches up with them!) and some pizza with pepperoni, sausage and peppers:
It was delicious and after a day of running around, we sucked it down pretty quickly! The best way to finish up a hectic, chore-filled Saturday is with a movie night at home with your husband! That is exactly what we did, too. 🙂 I let Dan stop at the liquor store on the way home to stock up, and he looked like me at the Sporting Goods store!
Very satisfactory little Saturday.
