I’ve been working my way through a list posted by Greatist of foods you should never buy again because you can make them yourself for cheaper. So far, I’ve conquered yogurt and hummus. I decided to move on to another snacktime favorite. SALSA! This was another pretty easy one, and honestly, I preferred the end result to most any store-bought brand. It’s also easily customized to your tastes and preferences. We like our salsa spicy, full of onions and chunky! So that’s how we prepared it.
Start with a huge pile of diced onions and tomatoes (I used Roma because they looked the best in the store):
After that, I added a bit of olive oil, some diced jalapenos and salt and pepper.
Squeeze some lemon on top, and get ready to dig in!
