sights unseen, san francisco day 1

last weekend, dan and i went to visit my parents in their new home in los altos, california. they moved in november and we hadn’t been out there, yet. of course, i took about a million photos – it was so warm compared to chicagoland weather, and beautiful sights to be seen everywhere. plus, you know, memories and stuff! so here is just a taste to start.

on our first day, we took a ferry to see alcatraz because neither dan nor i had ever seen “the rock.” we took an audio tour (highly recommend!) and walked all around the prison grounds which are disintegrated  but backed by beautiful surroundings of nature.

following our bout of tourism, we walked around an area in san francisco called “north beach” and hit up a locally acclaimed coffee roaster in the area as well – caffe roma roasting company. delicious! my dad even purchased a pound of beans to bring home.

we finished our day with a beautiful sunset dinner with a view at scoma’s – a seafood joint down on the water.

enjoy!
