why you shouldn’t tell people your goals

i was planning to write a post about goal-setting and in particular, some that i have been setting for myself lately. on my way to composing on this topic, however, i ran across this TED Talk that advised me to NOT share them with you.

after i watched, i realized that what he was saying made a lot of sense. in the world of blogging, tweeting, facbeooking, pinterest, etc, is it possible that people are using these platforms as added reassurance? it’s easy enough to write something down in a public forum and even easier to hit “pin it,” but what is the conversion rate from pipe dream to reality?

in thinking a little more about all this, i came up with a few new, updated goals for myself. but don’t worry, i’m not going to tell you what they are.
