First Hike in Charlotte

Happy Halloween Friday! I hope everyone has appropriately spooky plans to honor the season and holiday. Dan and I are going to make pizza and watch scary movies while we answer the door for Trick or Treaters. We’ve never lived in a house together before, so I’m actually pretty excited for the evening ahead.

Last weekend, Dan and I wasted no time in finding a nearby hiking trail to get one of our favorite fall activities in while the weather is still gorgeous (we had sunny skies and low 70-degree temperatures for our entire 3.5 mile trek). This particular trail was a draw for me, because I love hiking near water, and as you can see from some of the pictures below, we followed along the shore of a beautiful finger extending from Lake Norman. The foliage and sunlight here are so different from what we are used to in Illinois, so I may have gone overboard with the pictures, but I wanted to capture every beautiful vista!
