Even though it was technically Ella’s second Valentine’s Day, it was the first one where she was aware of what was going on, and even though I know it can be a huge marketing ploy of a holiday, I love taking any excuse to celebrate, especially as we are all eagerly awaiting the arrival of spring and warmer, outside-friendly weather. So to honor the day, we did just a FEW little fun activities. Ella helped Dan make heart shaped, strawberry pancakes (and snacked on the ingredients a bit during the process). We gave Ella a few heart-wrapped gifts (mostly books about Valentine’s Day to read throughout the day). We organized a bit of a Valentine’s Day craft for the afternoon and then we all made heart-shaped, red-ingredient-topped pizza for dinner. Even though Ella was pretty cranky due to what we think might be a bit of teething, she was able to put on a happy face to enjoy most of the day.
